Emily Winningham

Librarian

Ms. Emily joined the HCMS community in 2025 as the school librarian. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a Master of Library Science degree and holds a B.A. in English from the University of Texas at San Antonio. As a big reader from a young age, becoming a librarian felt like the natural path forward for Ms. Emily. She is especially interested in archival studies and academic librarianship.

Ms. Emily feels drawn to HCMS because she believes that Montessori education is empowering. She feels lucky to work in such a peaceful environment each day where every child is valued and taught that they have space to belong in their community. With previous experience in both the public library setting, and as a youth volunteer for Episcopal churches in the San Antonio area, Ms. Emily feels that she is equipped to be a great librarian for HCMS. She has a passion for literacy awareness and loves the opportunity she has here to get to know the students, as she constantly discovers new ways to engage them through reading.

In her free time, Ms. Emily enjoys reading, crocheting, discovering new craft hobbies, and spending time with her four rescue dogs. She loves all things animal related and seeing the HCMS goats, Tory and Mikey, adds so much joy to her days.
