During the period from birth to age 3, your child’s brain develops more rapidly than at any other stage of development. HCMS recognizes the importance of these formative years, which is why our Toddler Program starts supporting your child at 18 months and continues through 3 years of age.
At HCMS, the Toddler environment is designed to promote your child’s growth in all areas of development. Students bring order to their environment through the use of practical life and sensorial materials. Our nurturing Montessori certified teachers promote peaceful, supportive, and safe environments for your child, so they are able to fully develop their intellectual, emotional, and social skills.
The HCMS preschool curriculum is centered around each child’s unique skills, abilities, and interests. Our objective for your toddler is to develop their language, problem-solving, physical functions, and concentration skills.
Your toddler will be able to freely explore and learn through a secure and loving environment that helps bring order to their world. The Montessori Toddler classroom is calm, comfortable, inviting, and organized with child-sized chairs and tables, large rugs for floor work, and low shelving and counter space. The environment is designed to foster independence, self-care, language, and social development.
Learning materials are easily accessible and designed to promote sensory learning, concentration, problem-solving, and achievement. The equipment within the classroom supports the development of motor skills, making independent choices, and completing activities.
The HCMS Toddler classroom learning materials go far beyond normal daycare squeaky toys and building blocks. They are designed to build authentic and meaningful learning experiences. Check out some of the Montessori materials below!
